Natural Acne Solutions: Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) is an old-timer when it comes to holistic healing. It's made from extracting juice from apples, putting them in wooden barrels and adding yeast to start the process of fermentation. When using it as a natural remedy , it's important to buy the organic or unpasteurized apple cider vinegar because it's the one that contains all the health-giving benefits. It has a cloudy appearance because of the presence of "mother of vinegar", a harmless bacterial substance that forms at the top of the vinegar as it matures. Processed and filtered ACV are reported to be not as potent as the organic types. As an acne treatment , you need to dilute it with water (1 part ACV to 3-4 parts water) and apply directly on your face with a cottonball. You leave it on for a few minutes and rinse it off afterwards. You may have to do this process a few times daily, frequency depending on your acne condition, to see the effect. Homemade Acne Solution: Acne-Clearing Facial Steam

This anti-acne homemade solution came from Charles Silverman N.D., a Naturalist and Herbalist. Ingredients: 1 quart steaming water 2 drops tea tree oil 1 drop clary sage oil  1 drop lemon oil 1 drop palmarosa oil 1 drop ylang ylang oil Instructions: Pour the water into a two-quart glass bowl.  Drop the oils into the water and gently disperse them.  Lean your clean face over the bowl and drape a towel over both your head and the bowl to capture the steam.  Steam your face for five min­utes.  Cleanse your skin afterwards with Green Clay Cleanser or your favorite cleanser.
